Where is my practice’s cash getting stuck?

Dr. Wano · Recorded October 15, 2026. This transcript follows the edited video captions.

Production is what you're actually delivering, right? Collections is the money you're bringing in. Profit is your collections minus all your overhead and costs.

And that's what you take home, right? Where does money get stuck in that system? It could be a couple different things, right?

Maybe you're not checking the insurances before you're treating those patients. And then you go to send the claims, and it's getting rejected, right? And then your front desk has to provide more information or an updated form, right?

Maybe to a new insurance company, right? Going back and forth, and maybe that falls off after a busy week, right? It's going back and forth, back and forth, right?

And then you're leaking money that way. Or you check that insurance, and then maybe the patient is shocked at the front desk, didn't realize it was going to cost that much. Or maybe there was a slight change, right?

And now they owe more money. You don't have a clear process or system in place that can provide them a way to pay, either installments or things like that. And so then they don't pay you the rest of that money, right?

How are you collecting? What is the process for that? That leads into the bigger overarching system: how are you tracking?

How are you tracking your current collections overall? Are you tracking 30 days, 90 days, right? And what are the processes and systems you have in place to track all of that, as well as reclaim as much of that as you can?
